Product description: Xylitol, also known as pentaerythritol or pentacarbanol, is a five membered alcohol, a monosaccharide compound. It is a straight chain polyol with 5 carbon atoms and 5 hydroxyl groups, which is obtained from xylose hydrolyzed from plant fiber raw materials and then reduced. It naturally exists in bananas, strawberries, carrots, bayberry, onions, lettuce, cauliflower, spinach and mushrooms. Racemate, which crystallizes from ethanol as monoclinic or orthorhombic white crystal or crystalline powder. Crystal form has α Type (metastable, monoclinic crystal) and β Type (steady state, orthorhombic crystal). Odorless. It tastes sweet and cool. It is easily soluble in water, ethanol and slightly soluble in methanol. The sweetness and calorific value are similar to those of sucrose. It is an excellent substitute for patients who are fasting sucrose. Hygroscopic.
Uses: Organic synthetic raw materials can be used to prepare surfactants, emulsifiers, demulsifiers, various alkyd resins, coatings, varnishes, etc. And synthetic fatty acid esters are nonvolatile plasticizers. Xylitol can replace glycerin and be used in papermaking, daily necessities and national defense industry. Because it is a polyhydroxy compound, it has sweet taste and is non-toxic. It is suitable for low calorific value food and diabetic patients as a sweetener.
